Wapo’s latest attempt to shape the news cycle
By TATIANA PROPHET
The Washington Post’s latest decree from government sources. Points to consider:
1) Writer Devlin Barrett was FBI lawyer Lisa Page’s accomplice in smearing Carter Page as a way to legitimize Crossfire Hurricane, the spying operation on candidate — and President — Donald Trump.
2) Some on the right have been saying Mueller’s letter was angry. Hard to impute emotion from a third-hand account.
3) The letter is not physically published in the Washington Post article — leaving room not just for interpretation, but for outright deceit.
4) Anonymous sources are used.
5) Halfway through the story, the anonymous source is paraphrased as saying Mueller did not feel Barr’s summary letter was inaccurate. So why the story?
6) The complaint in Mueller’s letter was limited to the obstruction topic.
7) This article states that Mueller chose not to indict Trump because “you can’t indict a sitting president.” Mueller’s reasoning is a little different than that, although many interpretations have reached this conclusion.
