DOZENS OF UNIDENTIFIED MIGRANTS BURIED IN ‘PVC’ CEMETERY IN TEXAS

Neighbors near a cemetery in Eagle Pass, Texas, began reporting makeshift graves that were “sunken in” after recent rains. Local TV station KSAT went to investigate and learned that the county medical examiner did not have enough room to refrigerate the bodies of unidentified migrants who had perished near or at the high-traffic Rio Grande crossing.

It wasn’t clear if the bodies remain unidentified because of the lack of space, or if they required more information than was available. Either way, the TikTok user who first posted a video in August said the bodies were “unembalmed” and that there was a foul odor.

Local news reached out to the cemetery co-owner who would not comment; and a judge is working to get more capacity to handle the demand.

News broke of this overflow site via a TikTok video posted most likely in August. Back to Facts investigates the authenticity and provenance of videos that appear on social media without dates or context. The fact that a local TV station documented the situation on September 14 was very helpful.
